Qaseem was called to the Bar in 2018 and joined Paramount Chambers in June 2020 with eleven years’ advocacy experience, appearing frequently before the First-tier and Upper tribunals. He has an established public law practice, representing clients in Judicial Review matters involving immigration, asylum, unlawful detention and abuse of process.

Immigration and Asylum Law
With particular expertise in human rights, Qaseem has a deep-rooted interest in international religious persecution and discrimination, having worked with a number of NGO’s and diaspora community groups representing the interests of high-profile activists and religious leaders, lobbying for the release of prisoners of conscience and securing international protection in the United Kingdom.
Qaseem is frequently instructed on cases of failed asylum seekers and has an established track-record of successful fresh claim submissions being able to quickly grasp the underlying relevant facts and applying the best law to address gaps in previous appeal decisions. Qaseem receives repeat instructions from a variety of charities and community organisations and is well-known for his adept legal analysis and persuasive advocacy.
Qaseem has delivered training seminars relating to refugee law, UK immigration and the EEA regulations and has spoken at various events across the United Kingdom. He has an impressive pro bono portfolio, having recently travelled extensively to Ghana, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi representing clients, delivering legal training and providing free legal advice.

As a licensed Public Access Barrister, an important part of Qaseem’s practice is public access work; being able to see a case through to its very end with a focus on effective communication and client care. Members of the public can instruct Qaseem directly without the need to pay additional fees to solicitors.

Qaseem is an experienced and accomplished mountaineer, having led teams across the UK’s highest peaks and the French Alps raising money for British charities.
Qaseem holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Karate and played for the London Badminton squad in his youth. When time permits, Qaseem enjoys outdoor pursuits.
